People who got COVID-19 acquire natural immunity. However, the duration and degree of immunity differ from person to person and are not fully understood by scientists. Also, even if antibodies are present, there is no guarantee that the person will not get sick again. Antibody testing is useful mainly for medical and nursing staff. It has a sensitivity of >98% and a specificity of 100%. A blood draw is required to get the sample.
