CERVICAL ULTRASOUND
What do we test through Cervical Ultrasound and why is it done?
Through cervical ultrasound we test the cervical lymph nodes, the parotid and the submandibular glands.
The cervical ultrasound shows us more accurately the type and composition of the lymph nodes in the cervix, that is, whether they correspond to inflammatory-reactive lymph nodes or if there is a suspicion of malignant disease.
Even in rare cases the cervical ultrasound may highlight other swellings in the area such as thyroglossal duct cyst, branchial cysts, etc.
There is no need for any preparation from the patient.
