What is Renal Artery Triplex and what does it include?
It includes the check of kidneys and intravenous vessels, the stem of renal arteries across the entire length that can be visualized and the branch off of the arteries from the aorta. Also, a check of polar-supernumerary arteries is performed while the flow speeds in the vessels is correlated with the aorta flow speed.
The renal artery triplex is done by a medical radiologist and is a simple test from an execution point of view.

What preparation is needed for Renal Artery Triplex?
Due to the location of the kidney arteries, their visualization is difficult in some patients mainly due to their body type but also due to bowel prolapse with air or content.
For this reason, the test is done after a preparation in order to restrict air and content in the stomach and intestine.
The day before, the patient must avoid consuming foods that cause “bloating” such as legumes, greens, salads, fruits, dairy products and carbonated beverages.
On the day of the examination, he must be fasting at least 8 hours and can only consume water or tea without milk.
