THYROID – PARATHYROID GLANDS ULTRASOUND
What is Thyroid Ultrasound & why is it done?

Using thyroid ultrasound we can control the structure, size and vascularization of the thyroid gland.
During the examination, potential thyroid nodules are checked, in particular, their size, shape, composition, echogenicity and vascularization. The nodules are lumps in the tissue of the thyroid gland that are largely found in both men and women, but the percentage of malignancy is low!
– At our diagnostic center, we perform also needle puncture FNA if it is deemed necessary.
Thyroid gland ultrasound occurs when the pathologist or endocrinologist wants to further investigate the existence of hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroiditis or to check for cervical neck swelling.
